Angel On My Shoulder
(C) 2003 CJ Hughes
See all the pretty painted ponies
prancin’ in the moonlight
we lay on the hood of my old car
and watch the clouds roll by
smell the pine trees in the wind
dust off a gravel road
just a little piece of heaven
right here at home
I’ve got an angel on my shoulder
lyin’ right here next to me
I couldn’t have planned this any better
if I were painting my own dream
Red and white checkers on green grass
she’s gone and packed a picnic sup
she breaks a bottle of Boone’s farm
and we drink cheap wine from paper cups
And when I tell her that I love her
she says boy tell me somethin’ I don’t know
so I said girl I’m gonna love you
even when we’re both ugly and old
here we go
I’ve got an angel on my shoulder
lyin’ right here next to me
I couldn’t have planned this any better
if I were painting my own dream
See all the pretty painted ponies
prancin’ in the moonlight
we lay on the hood of my old car
and watch the clouds roll by
